Jose Mourinho has now set his eyes on Danny Rose thoughtfully, as he reportedly believes the English international will become United’s next first-choice left back in a £50million deal, reports the Daily Mail.

United were interested in pursuing the Tottenham player last summer but missed out as he was recuperating from a long-term knee injury and Mauricio Pochettino was reluctant to sell two fullbacks simultaneously after selling Kyle Walker to Manchester City.

However, the decorated player’s interview with The Sun newspaper turned out to spark an uproar, as he questioned the club’s wage structure and then openly admitting that he would be happy to move away from White Hart Lane.

This bothered the Spurs’ higher-ups and hence they prepared themselves to offload the left-back in the winter or summer window next year.

The United gaffer is thinking of exploiting this chance to swoop the talented defender.

The 27-year-old has been fuming ever since he was left out of the squad for the North London derby. So he might consider a move to Old Trafford beneficial, given the fact that the Red Devils lack a satisfactory left-back at the moment.

The ex-Saints man Luke Shaw is being hardly considered by the boss, which leaves them with Ashley Young, who basically is an attacking player.

Furthermore, the expected deal of £50 million could suffer increment as the fellow contenders for the Leeds United youth academy product include Manchester City and Chelsea.

Besides, the Old Trafford outfit recognize that agreeing on a deal with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will be a laborious duty, as he proves to be a very tough negotiator.

Regardless, his current deal fastens him to White Hart Lane for a couple more years, although it’s unlikely for the coach to see out the rest of his contract.
