Jadon Sancho’s impressive performances for Borussia Dortmund could earn him a move back to Manchester soon.
Manchester United‘s forwards are struggling to find the net this season. Anthony Martial has managed to find his form, scoring 4 goals in the last three fixtures, but Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford continue to endure droughts that don’t look likely to end anytime soon.
The Red Devils have lacked the services of a proper right-winger since Antonio Valencia dropped back to play in the defence. Rashford has featured on that side of the pitch for most of this season, but being a natural striker, has failed to make a proper impact from the flank.
Jose Mourinho made multiple attempts to sign a winger in the summer, but Ed Woodward failed to deliver during the transfer window.

Manchester United are said to be eyeing a move for Dortmund sensation Jadon Sancho in the next summer window. The 17-year-old winger has been in brilliant form this season, scoring 5 goals and providing 7 assists.
Gareth Southgate was impressed by his performances, and handed him his first national cap against Croatia this month. The teenager has begun attracting interest from clubs all around Europe as well.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes suggests that English clubs are looking to make a move for Sancho, having stated: “Two English youngsters are lighting up the Bundesliga right now, and while Sancho looks likely to return to these shores, the latest betting suggests Nelson could make his stay in Germany a permanent one.”
Dortmund have adopted a policy to not include buy-back clauses when young stars join their club, but Manchester City managed to convince them, and have first rights on Jadon Sancho. However, United are still considered favourites to land the Englishman if he decides to leave in the near future.

Paul Pogba starred in Manchester United‘s recent 2-1 win over Everton in the Premier League, but it’s not just his goal and assist that grabbed the headlines.
The Frenchman’s incredible 26-step run-up for his penalty kick instantly became a trending topic on social media, with supporters and rivals alike expressing their opinions regarding the unusual ritual.
While manager Jose Mourinho urged the midfielder to change his approach, Pogba himself explained his style by confessing the following: “I always try and destabilize the keeper, maybe they know how I take penalties, maybe I should practice to change it, if the keepers know my step.”
Despite the World Cup winner’s defence, however, social media continued to discuss his run-up, with a special trend, #ThingsYouCanDoDuringPogbasPenaltyRunUp, emerging from the incident.

A variety of tweets, rigth from Luke Shaw’s witty remark regarding the revival of his own career, to Spurs finally finishing the construction of their new stadium, were on display on the social networking site.
However, the following tweet concerning Usain Bolt is what stood out due to it’s sheer factual nature:
Fun fact: Usain Bolt took 9.58 seconds to beat 100M World Record at World Champs. While Paul Pogba took 9.90 seconds to complete penalty run up vs Everton

As the tweet points out, the Jamaican sprinter-turned-footballer did actually complete his world record-breaking 100-meter sprint back in 2009 a whole 0.32 seconds faster than Pogba finished the short run-up to his penalty against the Toffees.
A genuinely mind-boggling stat, to say the very least! Was Bolt too fast, or Paul too slow?

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is happy for Wayne Rooney over his success at DC United.
De Gea has been supporting Rooney's MLS campaign on social media.
Read more on Tribal FootballDavid De Gea has engineered many a successful comeback and victories for Manchester United. Despite successfully keeping him away from a Real Madrid steal over the past seasons, United now have time as their next adversary in keeping the Spaniard at the Theatre of Dreams.
De Gea is out of contract at the end of this season, and although some form of extension may remain, the club’s next decision will be either to cash out on him, or keep him till the end and then let him go for free.
As of now, contract renewal talks have been going on for months without avail, and teams like Juventus and PSG have allegedly been showing interest. Now, the man himself has had his say on contract talks.
Speaking to Sky Sports after United’s Champions League defeat, De Gea stated: “The important thing is to focus on football. We have a big game against Everton and more important games are coming in the next few months.

“You don’t have time to think about things that aren’t totally important. There’s no time to think of anything other than football.”
An apt response, and another reason why the Red Devils will be eager to keep him as their no.1 shot-stopper.

No wonder David de Gea is regarded as the best in business among goalkeepers. On another disappointing night for Manchester United, the Spaniard produced a world class show.
United were left with a 0-1 defeat in the hands of Juventus in a crucial Champions League encounter at Old Trafford.
Cristiano Ronaldo set the goal in the 17th minute with a brilliant cross that saw Pablo Dybala slot home from close range. Ronaldo wasn’t just done there. He had De Gea made a save from a free-kick with a powerful strike before extracting a world class save in the 2nd half.
It was indeed a glorious team move as Juventus combined well with Miralem Pjanic, before being picked out by former Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado on the edge of the box. Ronaldo hit an extraordinary first-time strike that was heading in the top corner.
But De Gea tipped it over the bar in stunning fashion.

It would have been some goal for the former United legend. Ronaldo was superb with his powerful shot, but credit to De Gea for doing what he does best. No wonder the Spaniard is the best goalkeeper in the world.

The save draw a lot of attention from pundits and fans alike on social media sites. Some even called it the save of the season already.
United were lucky not to lose the match by a bigger margin. They have three more games to go and need at least two wins to have a chance for qualification to the knockout stages.
Juventus will be the favourites in their next match as they host United in Turin. Hopefully that tie will see men playing against men rather than men against boys as Rio Ferdinand summed it up.

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his thoughts on facing Manchester United in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The Portuguese international will be returning to his former chomping grounds to face the Red Devils for only the second time since his departure from England.
The first time he revisited Old Trafford was with Real Madrid back in 2013, wherein Jose Mourinho’s Galacticos controversially knocked the Mancunian giants out in the Round of 16, in what turned out to be Sir Alex Ferguson’s final Champions League fixture.
Ronaldo, who scored the decisive goal that eliminated Manchester United back then, has now claimed that he is once again up for the task, and that his current team is just as capable of beating the Reds and winning the game on Tuesday.

He then reminisced about the time he spent in Manchester, stating: “I won lots of trophies here, cups, league, Champions League, I remember the support as well. The support is fantastic.”

Ronaldo also reserved a special mention for his footballing father, as he added: “Sir Alex Ferguson is someone I will never ever forget and I would like to express my best possible wishes to him.”
Lastly, the 33-year-old also addressed the rape allegations, as he concluded: “I’m happy man. We did the statement two weeks ago. Of course I’m not going to lie on this situation. My lawyers are confident and of course I am too.
“The most important thing is that I enjoy football and enjoy life. I have people who take care of my life. The true always come in the first position.”

The London Blues take on the Red Devils in a high-profile fixture to mark the return of club football from the international break.
Chelsea are joint leaders in the Premier League, and victory will be desperate for Maurizio Sarri, who is looking to stamp his dominance in England.
In contrast, Jose Mourinho will be heading to his former side with a shaky Manchester United squad, where a victory could make an entire season’s worth of difference.
Here’s how the two sides are likely to shape-up for the big game:
Manchester United
The Red Devils had numerous concerns during the international break, with Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic, and Marouane Fellaini all picking up injuries of one sort or another.
While their earlier list of injuries to Lingard and Rojo remains populated, Ander Herrera could feature at the Bridge.
Mourinho had this to say about the Spaniard during his pre-match press conference: “Players that are going to make an effort to be available for the team, like Herrera (will play a role). He trained two days but, with the situation we have, is one step forward and he’s ready to help us.”
While an offensive lineup will be tempting for the Portuguese gaffer, a more tactical setup seems likely to be on the line, with frustrating the Blues seeming top priority.

Defenders: Valencia, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw
Midfielders: Fred, Herrera, Pogba
Forwards: Mata, Lukaku, Rashford

Sarri is en route being heralded as a genius, and in Mourinho, he’ll find a challenging thorn. In terms of injury, Ethan Ampadu is the most probable absentee, while Hudson-Odoi and Barkley seem doubtful.
In terms of return from injury, the presence of Rudiger and Kovacic was all but confirmed by the manager during his press conference.
Chelsea’s biggest source of offense will be Eden Hazard, and N’Golo Kante’s new role can really have the potential to make fools out of Mourinho’s United. What will occur when the giants clash – a one-sided affair, or a technical stalemate?
Goalkeeper: Kepa

Paul Pogba has had a troubled stint at Manchester United since his return from Juventus a couple of seasons ago, but it is unlikely that the Frenchman has ever faced more scrutiny than he is currently experiencing at Old Trafford.
Question marks over his commitment to the team, leadership skills, and most of all, his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho, have all raised speculation that a move away from Manchester could be in the offing.
And Goal are now reporting that Pogba’s woes at United have been noticed by one certain Brazilian superstar who is keen to bring the Frenchman to Paris. That, of course, being PSG sensation Neymar Jr.
The Brazilian is said to be good friends with Pogba, and has sounded his mate over possibilities of a move to PSG. It seems unlikely that the move can take place this season, however, with PSG coming under the scanner for possible Financial Fair Play violations.

The Red Devils turned around a 2-0 deficit against Newcastle United on Saturday and won 3-2 with Paul Pogba coming alive in the second half, and United fans will hope that he can commit to the club and play similarly well in the upcoming games.
The 25-year-old has had his fair share of problems with Mourinho recently, and was stripped of his vice-captaincy as well as gagged from speaking to the media by club officials, so it remains to be seen what his stance will be regarding a move to the French capital.

Lionel Messi’s UCL brace against Tottenham brought his total tally against English clubs to 22 goals and 6 assists in 28 appearances, that too against the top clubs of the Premier League that made the cut into the elite competition.
This scintillating trend does beg the question of exactly how the Argentine superstar would fare if he’d join the Premier League – a debate that has been raised from numerous years. He’s been repeatedly doubted to excel in that specific league, but here are seven things that are bound to happen if he makes the switch:
1. Salah’s Record Slashed
Mo Salah made history last season when he finally broke through a long-held goalscoring record of 32 goals in a full-fledged 38-game Premier League season.
However, if the likes of Messi, who in his entire career till date has only twice dropped below the 31 goal mark in the league, were to move to England, this record seems destined to be short-lived. Child’s play even as a playmaker?
2. Reunion With Pep
If a move would be on the cards, it goes without saying that Manchester City would be the top team linked to Messi, with prior speculation having occurred as well.
But what is likely to fuel such a switch would be the prospect of Messi reuniting with Pep Guardiola. The duo shared a fond rapport as well as iconic success during their time at the Camp Nou and the temptation to mimic it in England will be strong.
3. Bad News for La Liga?
First Neymar broke the world record and switched to PSG, then Ronaldo broke hearts by moving to Juventus. In the event Messi too departs, it might as well break the La Liga, as there would hardly be any stellar reason left to indulge in the Spanish league.
The worldwide commercial appeal that these superstars bring to the game will be hard to mimic and building that kind of support even in the face of Messi potentially leaving could be a tall order.
4. New Challenge For Madrid and Barcelona
Having lost their respective superstars in the form of Ronaldo and Messi, Real Madrid and Barcelona will be tasked with building a new identity for themselves. While in the case of Barca this is just a hypothetical, Los Blancos are already undergoing such a change.
A major shift in power dynamics will be brought if Messi too departs, as smaller clubs will begin to fancy their chances. This could lead to the La Liga becoming more competitive and by virtue retain some element of entertainment.
5. Cold, Rainy Night At Stoke
While Messi could potentially switch to the Premier League and shush his critics with impressive performances, there is one feat that he may not be able to achieve even then.
Stoke City being relegated last campaign will ensure that the world may never know whether or not Lionel Messi can do it on a cold, rainy night at Stoke.
The statement being the popular origin of the ‘Messi to Premier League’ debate, the situation could still occur in a Cup encounter, if fate destines it, that is.
6. Premier League Revenue Skyrockets
If there were any doubts about the possibility of the Premier League continuing their record haul of revenue, if Messi joins the roster of any club in the top flight, the incoming revenue will simply skyrocket even further.
This would further stamp the superiority of the English League over the rest and their already unassailable dominance will be stretched even more. Moreover, such a move may just encourage even more stars to make the switch to Premier League clubs, causing a domino effect to be reckoned with.
7. Goat Debate Settled
For the longest of times, Ronaldo’s tenure at Manchester United has been cited as the upper-edge that the Portuguese star may have against Messi with respect to who would be the greatest of all time.
However, if Messi joins a present-day Premier League giant and manages to succeed, then that would settle the debate once and for all.
Is this the final extent that Messi will go to in order to cement the verdict?
